Hanoi (VNA) - U.S. Ambassador Michael W. Michalak announced on November 21 that the US has agreed to provide emergency assistance totaling 50,000 USD, for victims of the recent floods in Vietnam .
According to the US Embassy in Vietnam , the US government is to provide the assistance via the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for the distribution of emergency relief commodities to those affected by the disaster.
The assistance will be shared between 2,000 Vietnamese families in Hanoi and the provinces of Vinh Phuc, Ninh Binh and Ha Nam , which were particularly affected by the floods in early November.-
