Beijing capital airport to close on Olympic inauguration

– Beijing Capital International Airport will close from 7:59 pm until midnight during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on August 8.

More than 20 flights from Shanghai to Beijing will be affected by the four-hour closure. However, all flights will return to schedule the following day.

There are only 27 flights available from Shanghai to Beijing on August 8 while 43 are available on August 7 and another 45 on August 9.

Flights to and from Nanyuan airport in the south of Beijing will also be affected by the measure which aimed at reinforcing security in the capital during the Olympic Games.-
