Turkey shock Croatia in penalty shootout

Turkey beat Croatia 3-1 in a dramatic penalty shootout in Vienna on Friday to play against Germany in the Euro 2008 semifinals.

Croatia, who largely dominated Friday’s match, looked to have won in the final minute of extra-time as substitute Ivan Klasnic headed home from Luka Modric’s cross in the 119th minute.

But Turkey responded with a sensational last gasp equalizer from Semih Senturk which stunned the Croatians ahead of the shootout.

Holland, which won three group stage matches against Italy, France and Romania, will play against Russia on June 21.

Spain oust Italy on penalties to make Euro semi-finals
